| Remove door from the frame. Make sure the
surface is free of old finishes, contaminate
and loosen paint. Apply 1 to 2 coats of Jeld-Kote
paint as primer. Then, wipe or brush an even
layer of Ottergel Wood Stain on the surface.
Make sure the panel has been coloured thoroughly.
Practise on a scrap piece of painted metal,
wood or a panel on the door. While exerting
downward pressure with your index finger
slightly, draw the graining tool down the
section, move the tool at a constant speed.
When drawing the graining tool towards you,
slowly rock it down and up to create a natural
heartwood appearance. Not to stop the tool
when pulling a grain. Finally, apply Otter®
H2O Polyurethane Floor Finish as top coat.
If you do make a mistake, simply wipe wood
stain over the area and grain it again.
You can also wipe it off completely with
a piece of cloth dampened with turpentine
and try all over. |
